Derek Mitchell F#33

Men's Basketball

Derek Mitchell has averaged 15.8 points and 15.4 rebounds in five games for the Panther men in the month of February. He leads Ferrum in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots, and is second in steals. Mitchell is currently the USA South's leading rebounder and #2 scorer.

Women's Basketball

In the month of February, including seven games in which Ferrum has gone 6-1 through Feb. 16, Kristen Keith has stockpiled 126 points (18 ppg), 58 rebounds (8.3 rpg) and 12 blocked shots (1.7 bpg). The sophomore from Martinsville, Virginia, leads Ferrum in both scoring and rebounding.

Spring sports seasons have been hampered by snow, sleet, freezing rain and frigid temperatures. When will mother nature give us a break and let our spring sports teams see grass again?

Did You Know...

Through Feb. 16, the Ferrum women's basketball team is 6-1 in the month of February. The USA South Tournament is quickly approaching. Anyone know how many times the Panther women have been to the league's post-season tournament title game?

Ferrum's women advanced to the USA South Tournament finals twice in the past four years. In 2006, Ferrum fell 74-65 to Greensboro in the title game. The Panthers made a return trip to the title game in 2007, falling 77-53 to host CNU.
