FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Ferrum College freshman Brandon Brown has been named to the 2008 USA South All-Conference Men's Tennis Team as a second team selection.

Brown played every match this season at #1 singles and #1 doubles. He is currently 5-13 in singles and 6-11 in doubles. Brown earned USA South Rookie of the Week honors February 25.
Freshman Matt Mellone was Ferrum's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Mellone is one of Ferrum's team captains this year.
Ferrum is 3-11 overall this season. Coach Gary Holden's team will compete this weekend in the
2008 USA South Tennis Tournament. Ferrum is the #6 seed and will face #3 North Carolina Wesleyan College today at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
The USA South Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments are being held at Burlington Tennis Center in Burlington, North Carolina, as part of the
2008 USA South Spring Sports Festival. This marks the third consecutive year that all six of the league's spring sports championships are being contested in this location.
