YORK, Pa. -- Ferrum College suffered a 4-2 non-conference baseball loss to York College May 1 in York, Pennsylvania. The last time the two team met was in the 2007 NCAA Baseball South Regional, hosted in May of 2007 at Ferrum.

York (13-27) scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning, including a 2-RBI double to left-center by outfielder Dennis Maxim. Maxim went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. OF Ryan Poff went 3-4 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Catcher Nick Baker and second baseman Jason Butterworth each went 2-3 for Ferrum in the loss. Starting pitcher Brian Mays fell to 0-5 this season with the loss. He allowed nine hits and four runs (one earned) over seven innings, while striking out nine and walking one.
York starting pitcher Matt Austin threw seven innings to get the win. He allowed five hits and two runs (both unearned), while striking out two and walking one.
