FERRUM, Va. -- Senior catcher Nick Baker has been named to the 2008 College Division All-State Baseball First Team, as selected by the Virginia Sports Information Directors. Baker was a second-team All-State selection a year ago.

Baker batted .377 with eight doubles, one triple, five home runs, 22 RBI and 28 runs. He recorded a .582 slugging percentage, a .438 on-base percentage and a .979 fielding percentage.
Baker was a first-team All-Conference selection in the USA South Athletic Conference this season. He made the All-State second team and All-Conference second team in 2007.
Baker so was named to the 2007 NCAA Division III All-Regional team, as well as the 2007 USA South All-Tournament Team.
Baker is the son of Kim Reynolds and Mark Zimmerman of Vinton, Virginia. He prepped at William Byrd High School, earning All-Timesland and All-Region for the Terriers, before becoming a mainstay with the Ferrum baseball program.
