FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's
Keith Crump and
Derek Mitchell have been named to the 2009 All-State Men's Basketball team as voted upon by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.
2009 VaSID Men's Basketball All-State Team
Both players are second team selections for 2009. Mitchell was also a second team selection a year ago, as well as the 2008 VaSID Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year.
Averett University's Jonathan Rumley was named Player of the Year, Randolph College's Derrick Woods-Morrow Rookie of the Year and Virginia Wesleyan College's Dave Macedo Coach of the Year.
Crump was the USA South Athletic Conference's third leading scorer this season at 15.6 points per game, while Mitchell was fourth 14.9 points per game. Both were All-Conference first team selections. Mitchell also earned All-Region second team honors from D3hoops.com.
