FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's sports moment #11 for the 2013-14 school year is the naming of two student-athletes to Academic All-District Teams.  Sponsored by Capital One, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) named Morgan Funck in women's soccer and Kylene Culler in women's basketball to the Academic All-District Team from District 5.  All first-team honorees are eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Funck was a USA South third team All-Conference selection this season after posting 31 points for the Panthers on 14 goals and three assists.  She had a pair of rare hat tricks this season, scoring three goals each against Hollins University Sept. 4 and Emory & Henry College Sept. 11.  Funck earned USA South Player of the Week honors on Sept. 16.  She was a USA South Academic All-Conference selection last season and earned Rookie of the Week once during her freshman campaign.

Culler was also a USA South third team All-Conference selection in women's basketball this year.  She scored 9.6 points per game for the Panthers, averaging a team-high 9.8 rebounds per game for the USA South regular season and tournament champions.  Culler helped Ferrum earn its third straight NCAA Division III Tournament berth (fourth overall) and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win.  She earned USA South Player of the Week honors on Jan. 6.

Culler also plays softball and was named to the USA South All-Conference third team from her position at shortstop.  She is a two-time USA South Academic All-Conference selection.  Culler is the only Ferrum female student-athlete to ever compete in NCAA Tournament play in two different sports.  She helped Ferrum advance the the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and the NCAA Softball Tournament in 2012.
