This is the league's third consecutive trip to this venue. In the first year at Burlington in 2006, Christopher Newport University swept the team titles with wins over Methodist University in the men's and women's title matches. In 2007 with NCAA automatic qualifying berth on the line, Methodist took both team titles and advanced to regional play. The Monarch women beat Christopher Newport for the championship, while the men defeated Averett University in the title match. NCAA automatic qualifiers are up for grabs once again in 2008.
