Played football at Ferrum under legendary Head Coach Hank Norton in 1971 and 1972 ? Chosen Team Captain by his teammates during the 1972 season ? Started every game both seasons ? Named All-Conference in 1972 ? Held job on campus with food services ? Student aide to long-time Mathematics Professor Tony Giesen ? Signed scholarship and played football for North Carolina State University in 1973, and was a starter upon his arrival ? Helped NC State win ACC Championship in 1973 and defeated Kansas 31-18 in the Liberty Bowl ? Started every game for NC State in 1974 and played in the Astro Blue Bonnet Bowl, where they tied University of Houston 31-31 ? Graduated from NC State in 1975 and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals ? Opted to play in the Canadian Football League, signing a contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers ? Taught at Gloucester High School before establishing his own masonry/construction  business he has owned for the past 35 years ? Inductee into the Gloucester High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2007
