Seeded number one on the men’s varsity tennis team both years he attended Ferrum. Undefeated in his Panther career in both singles and doubles. Named All-Conference Champion. Went on to attend West Chester State College in Pennsylvania on a tennis scholarship. Obtained the United States Professional Tennis Association teaching license and was the pro at both Stonehenge Golf and Country Club and Virginia All-Weather Tennis Club. Former mayor of Charlotte Court House who now plays recreational tennis and teaches tennis fundamentals to young people. Began a banking career after a back injury took him off the professional courts and is now a vice president of First Federal Savings Bank and manager of the bank’s Keysville branch. Retired from banking career in 2006. Currently Head Tennis Coach at Hampden-Sydney College.
