CNU Defeats Ferrum 28-14 in Football

FERRUM, Va. -- All-American Tunde Ogun scored a pair of second-half touchdowns to lift Christopher Newport University to a 28-14 win over Ferrum College in USA South Athletic Conference football action this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

Ogun, who closed the game with 14 consecutive carries, rushed for 106 yards and two scores on 32 carries. Antonio Epps had 127 yards and a TD on seven carries.

CNU (5-3, 3-1 USA South) rushed for 309 yards, while holding Ferrum (4-4, 2-3 USA South) to just 190 rushing yards.   Mike Vann led Ferrum with 63 yards on nine rushes.

Adrin Diggs was in on 13 tackles for the Captains, including 10 solo stops. Brandon Jackson had five solo tackles, two assisted and an interception for Ferrum.

Ferrum will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 7, at home against Averett University.  The USA South contest kicks off at 1 p.m.  Prior to the game, Ferrum will honor 14 graduating seniors.
