FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a 9-3 non-conference baseball win this afternoon at home over Hampden-Sydney College. For the Panthers, it was their second win in as many days.
Kevin Marshall led the charge, going 4-5 with two doubles, four RBI and a run.
Michael Nolte went 2-4 with a run and an RBI, and
Gabe Moncada has a solo home run in the 6th inning. Hampden-Sydney (7-7) had just four base hits.
Brian Mays got the win on the mound. He pitched 7.2 innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs, walking four and striking out eight.
Kevin Sydney was credited with the loss. He pitched three innings, allowed five hits and three earned runs, walked two and struck out one.
Ferrum (9-5) is back in action Saturday and Sunday, March 14-15, at home against Methodist University. The USA South Athletic Conference games get underway at 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Panther Field.
