Aaron Gustine converted a penalty kick in the 25th minute of play to deadlock the match at 1-1, and after two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods, the Panthers tied Greensboro College in USA South men's soccer action tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.
Chris Davis opened scoring with an early goal at the 2:48 mark for Greensboro (3-8-2, 0-1-2 USA South), heading in a cross from Joe Peluso.
Chris Taylor made seven saves in net for Ferrum (2-7-2, 0-0-1 USA South), while Woody Wilder made four stops for the Pride.
The Panthers return to action Saturday, Oct. 9, at Christopher Newport University, the #1-ranked NCAA Division III team. The USA South match gets underway at 7 p.m. in Newport News, Virginia.
