HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Ferrum College fell 17-5 this afternoon in non-conference baseball action to Hampden-Sydney Colege.

Caleb Dorton went 2-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Justin Franklin went 2-4 and scored a run. Ferrum used six pitchers in the loss, with starter Jon Wilson getting the loss.

Matt Brown went 4-6 with with a home run, two doubles, seven RBI and a pair of runs for Hampden-Sydney (8-6).  The Tigers out-hit Ferrum 19-10.  Mike Blanchard earned the win, pitching 5.2 innings with three strikeouts.

Ferrum (11-3) returns to action Thursday, March 18, at home against Lynchburg College.  The non-conference game gets underway at 5 p.m. at Panther Field.
