FERRUM, Va. -- Justin Franklin went 3-4 with a double, a home run, two runs and three RBI to help Ferrum College beat Southern Virginia University 9-2 in non-conference baseball action tonight at Panther Field.

Paul Jaglowski went 4-5 with a double, a run and two RBI for Ferrum (12-6), which stopped a four-game skid with the the win.  Charles Beacom went 3-4 with a run.

Tyler Easterly pitched eight innings to get the win, allowing no runs and striking out eight.  Tyler Milstead pitched the ninth inning for the Panthers, striking out two of the four batters he faced.

Southern Virginia (13-8) got a pair of base hits from Jake Johnson. Derek Snider absorbed the loss for the Knights, allowing 11 hits and six earned runs over six innings.

Ferrum (12-6) returns to action Thursday, March 25, at non-conference opponent Bridgewater College.  Coach Darren Hodges' team then plays Saturday, March 27, at home against Greensboro College.  The USA South contest gets underway at 3 p.m.  The two teams will also play Sunday at 2 p.m.
