Baseball Moves Into 3-Way Tie for First

FERRUM, Va. -- Paul Jaglowski and Jason Butterworth had three base hits each in leading Ferrum College to a 10-9 USA South baseball win over Greensboro College tonight at home.

Butterworth went 3-5 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBI. Jaglowski went 3-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI.

Tyler Easterly got the win for Ferrum (15-6, 5-3 USA South), pitching six innings.  Easterly allowed seven hits, five earned runs, walked three and struck out five.

Michael Parker went 3-5 with a homer, three runs and three RBI for Greensboro (10-18, 0-8 USA South).  Taylor MacDonald was credited with the loss.  He pitched five innings, allowing 10 hits and seven earned runs, while walking two and striking out four.

The win moved Ferrum into a three-way tie with Shenandoah University and North Carolina Wesleyan College atop the USA South leader board.  All three teams are now 5-3 in league play.

Coach Darren Hodges' team returns to action Tuesday, March 30, at home against Emory & Henry College.  The non-conference game is set to start at 5 p.m. at Panther Field.
