FERRUM, Va. -- Roanoke College scored all three goals in the first half of tonight's 3-0 non-conference men's soccer win over Ferrum College at Penn-Roediger Field.  It was the season-opener for both teams.

Roanoke (1-0) out-shot Ferrum 15-2 and closed with a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.  Michael Stark got the visiting Maroons (1-0) on the board at 5:07 off a pass from Jason Ryan.  Carl Leise and Peyton Lambert had unassisted goals at 9:33 and 37:19 mark, respectively, to close out scoring.

Ferrum GK Chris Taylor played all 90 minutes in net for the Panthers, registering four saves.  Avery Markel also played all 90 minutes with one save.

Ferrum (0-1) plays next Saturday, Sept. 4, at home against Bluefield College.  The non-conference match gets underway at 7 p.m.
