FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College men's soccer team played Guilford College to a scoreless tie after two overtime periods this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field.
Playing in rain-soaked conditions, Guilford out-shot Ferrum 21-8 and held an 11-7 edge in corner kicks.
Chris Taylor played all 90 minutes in net for Ferrum, making nine saves. Jonathan Shine also went 90 minutes for the Quakers (5-3-1) and made four stops.
Ferrum (2-5-1) plays again on Sept. 29 at Washington and Lee University. The non-conference match gets underway at 4 p.m. in Lexington, Virginia.
