Men's Soccer Loses on Last-Second PK

LEXINGTON, Va. -- With no time remaining on the clock, Washington and Lee University converted a penalty kick to earn a 1-0 non-conference men's soccer win over Ferrum College this afternoon in Lexington.

The penalty kick was called when a Ferrum player took down a W&L players inside the box.  W&L defender Conor Starr sent the PK past Ferrum goalkeeper Chris Taylor to give the Generals the win. 

Washington and Lee (2-3-2) out-shot Ferrum 20-6 and held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.  Taylor made 12 saves for Ferrum while Alex Lambert made three saves for W&L.

Ferrum (2-6-1) will return to action Saturday, Oct. 2, at home against Marymount University.  The non-conference is set for a 7 p.m. start at Penn-Roediger Field during Ferrum's Homecoming Weekend..
