Baseball Splits with Lynchburg Mar. 22 at Home

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped the opener of a non-conference baseball doubleheader to Lynchburg College, falling 7-6, but rebounded with a 3-2 win in the nightcap to salvage a split.

Paul Jaglowski and Sammy Holloway had a pair of base hits in the opener.  Jaglowski went 2-4 with a triple, double, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base.  Holloway went 2-3 and scored a run.

Morgan Boles pitched a complete game for Ferrum in the nightcap.  He scattered eight hits and two runs over seven innings, walked none and struck out six.  Boles improves to 2-3 with the win.

Jake Tanner had two base hits for the Hornets (13-10) in the second game.

Ferrum (11-12) returns to action Thursday, March 22, at home against Hampden-Sydney College.  The Panthers and Tigers faced each other in the 2011 season-opener Feb. 6 in Hampden-Sydney, with Ferrum winning 2-0.
