GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Ferrum College split a pair of USA South baseball games with Greensboro College April 2-3 on the road. The Panthers won 15-7 Saturday, then fell 2-1 Sunday.
Ferrum trailed 6-1 after four innings Saturday, but exploded for seven runs in the fifth and never looked back.
Grayson Gibson earned the win, pitching 2.1 innings in relief.
Eddie McGrath went 4-6 with a double, five RBI and a run.
Sammy Holloway went 3-6 with two RBI and a run.
On Sunday,
Travis Crump went 2-4 with a run.
Chris Walker earned the loss, pitching six innings with a pair of earned runs. Walker struck out five and walked four.
Ferrum (14-15, 2-8 USA South) is back in action Wednesday, April 6, at Emory & Henry College. The non-conference game will be played at 7 p.m. in Pulaski, Virginia.
