Marcus Mayo had a game-high 25 points to lead the Ferrum College men's basketball team to a 76-70 USA South win over Greensboro College this afternoon on the road. The win avenged an earlier loss to the Pride.
Daryl Hart added 12 points and
Jamal Pullen had 10 points for the Panthers.
Nick English and Maleek Myers each had eight points in the league win. English added seven boards and a pair of blocks. Ferrum trailed by a point at halftime, 34-33, but rallied in the second half to pick up the win.
Luqman Tijani had 19 points and eight rebounds for Greensboro (12-7, 4-3 USA South), while David Anderson had 13 and T.J. Holman had 11. Ferrum closed with a slight rebounding edge, 29-28.
The Panthers (11-8, 4-3 USA South) return to action Tuesday, Jan. 31, at home against Shenandoah University. Tghe USA South game gets underway at 7 p.m. in Sawrtz Gym.
