FERRUM, Va. -- Lynchburg College led 3-0 after an inning and held on for a 4-3 non-conference baseball win over Ferrum College tonight at Panther Field.
Starting pitcher
Chris Walker was saddled with the loss after pitching 7.1 innings with nine stikeouts. Walker allowed seven hits, three earned runs and a walk.
Adam Duncan pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing one hits and striking out one.
The Panthers could muster just four hits; one each by
Taryn Hayden,
Paul Jaglowski,
Eddie McGrath and
Daniel Alvarez. Jaglowski also scored a run and had a stolen base.
Dustin Arrowood went 2-4 with a double and an RBI for the Hornets (29-7). Starter James Womack pitched eight innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and four walks, with two strikeouts.
Ferrum (20-15) will close out the season Wednesday, April 18, against Emory & Henry College. The non-conference game will be played at Calfee Park, starting at 7 p.m.
