FERRUM, Va. -- Starter
Chris Walker allowed just two hits over 7.2 innings to get the win as Ferrum College beat Greensboro College 7-4 in USA South baseball action this afternoon at Panther Field.
James Feldman rained blasted a three-run homer for Greensboro (19-12, 5-6 USA South) in the top of the sixth inning, breaking up Walker's no-hitter and trimming Ferrum's lead to 6-3. Ferrum scored another run in the bottom the frame, while the Pride got one more in the eighth for the final count.
Catcher
Wes Walker went 2-5 with a double, an RBI and a run for the Panthers (20-11, 6-5 USA South). First baseman
Taryn Hayden went 2-5 with a double, an RBI and a run.
Shortstop
Paul Jaglowski drilled a single past third base in the bottom of the first inning to keep his hitting streak alive at 23 games. The streak began in Ferrum's win over Johnson & Wales University Feb. 27 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Ferrum and Greensboro will play against Saturday, April 7, at 7:00 p.m. Prior to the game, five players will be recognized with a special Senior Night ceremony, starting at 6:40 p.m.
