HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Jenessa Derstine had two goals and two assists to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 5-0 non-conference field hockey win this afternoon over Ferrum College at EMU Turf Field.
Derstine's goals came at 3:07 and 33:37. Melissa Cox, Mikayla Martin and Brianna Kauffman also scored a goal each for the Royals (4-13). Mariah Martin and Ariel Bills shared time in net for Eastern Mennonite, each making two saves. Gosslin and Alexis Atkinson shared time in net for the Panthers (1-13), combining for 11 saves.
Ferrum plays next on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Roanoke College at 6:00 p.m. in Salem, Virginia. The Panthers close out the season Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1-2, against Wells College. Both games against Wells begin at 12:00 p.m. each day.
