ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Ferrum College opened a 7-0 lead after three innings in taking the third game of a USA South baseball series with North Carolina Wesleyan, beating the Bishops 9-2 this afternoon at Bauer Field. Today's game was moved up to a 10:00 a.m. start to get ahead of the rain forecast for the greater Rocky Mount area.
Taryn Hayden went 4-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI for Ferrum.
Hank Parsley went 2-4 and scored three runs.
Ty Comer also had a pair of base hits today, going 2-5 with two runs scored.

Javin Metz pitched five innings to get the win, allowing five hits, one run and three walks with four strikeouts.

Dalton Vetter and
Manny Torres each threw an inning in relief to close out the game.
Ferrum (13-5, 10-2 USA South) is scheduled to play at Lynchburg College Wednesday, March 19, at 3:00 p.m. Coach
Ryan Brittle's team will then host Methodist University in a USA South series Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 3:00 p.m., then a single game Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
