LaGRANGE, Ga. -- Ferrum College posted a pair of USA South Athletic Conference baseball road win this afternoon over LaGrange College, winning 3-1 and 13-5 at Cleaveland Field.
Jake Perkins pitched a complete nine-inning game in the opener, allowing seven hits, two walks and an earned run, with seven strikeouts. Perkins has thrown several complete games already this season, including a no-hitter on Feb. 1 against Southern Virginia University and another no-hitter March 1 against Maryville College.
Matt Reynolds was a combined 4-6 today with a double, two runs, four RBI and a sacrifice fly for the Panthers.
Austin Winkles was 3-7 with two runs and an RBI.
Dillon Weaver earned the win in the nightcap to improve to 4-0 this season. He pitched five innings and allowed three hits, no runs and a walk, while while striking out four.
Ferrum (10-4, 7-1 USA South) will play the third and final game of the USA South series with LaGrange Monday at 2 p.m. before heading back to campus.
