SALEM, Va. -- Ferrum College earned a softball doubleheader sweep over Roanoke College tonight, posting a 7-4 win in the opener before taking the nightcap 11-5 at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex. The non-conference games closed out Ferrum's season at 25-13.
Karly Thompson went 3-4 with a double, two runs and two RBI in game one, and
Aiyana Lew went 2-4 with two runs. USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Year
Amanda Roberts pitched 6.1 innings to earn the win. She alllowed eight hits, four earned runs and a pair of walks.
Thompson went 3-4 in the nightcap with a a double, two runs and an RBI. Thompson closed a productive day going 6-8 with two doubles.
Kylene Culler had a two-run homer in the first inning for Ferrum, her second home run of the season.
