Courtney Hamm and
Kasey Sheets had a goal each to lift Ferrum College to a 2-1 non-conference field hockey win over Sweet Briar College this afternoon on the road.
Hamm scored her goal at 46:23 with an assist from
Alicia Jones. Sheets them poked in a rebound off
Kiani Mohica's shot to put the Panthers on top 2-0 at the 59:46 mark. Mohica was credited with an assist on the goal. Adelaide Hedge scored the lone goal for the Vixens (0-3) one minute later, but Ferrum was able to hang on for the win.
Courtney Gosslin played all 70 minutes in net for the Panthers (1-2), making 11 saves. Katie Toretti played 70 minutes for Sweet Briar with 12 stops. Ferrum returns to action Sunday, Sept. 7, at home against Notre Dame of Maryland University. The non-conference game gets underway at 12:00 p.m. at Penn-Roediger Field
