FERRUM, Va. -- Alicia Jones scored 22 seconds into the second overtime period to lift Ferrum College to a 2-1 non-conference field hockey win over visiting Swarthmore College this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Rita Garg scored an unassisted goal at 7:21 to give Swarthmore a 1-0 lead, which the Garnet held through halftime. Alexandra Madden scored on a tip-in of Haley Overstreet's shot at 61:23 to tie the game and send it into overtime. The two teams played through a scoreless first overtime before Jones poked a shot past Swarthmore goalkeeper Zalda Bank off another assist from Overstreet. Ferrum goalkeeper Courtney Gosslin was "money" in net for the Panthers, post 14 saves.
