FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference field hockey match at home to Lynchburg College, falling 10-1 at W.B. Adams Stadium.

Nikki Simpao three of her four goals in the first half to help the Hornets build a 6-0 lead at the break. Lynchburg lead 9-0 with less than eight minutes remaining in the game when Sierra Magdaleno scored an unassisted goal to break up the shutout.

"Tonight was a tough match against a really strong Lynchburg team," said Head Coach Carrie Hanshue Austin.
