SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- Ferrum College's field hockey team closed out regular season play with a non-conference road win over Sweet Briar College, posting a 9-0 shutout this afternoon at Thayer Field.

THE BASICS
Chanda Long had a hat trick for Ferrum, notching goals at 9:35, 22:02 and 22:32. Brianna Sawyer added two goals and an assist for the Panthers. Sawyer's first goal came at 2:22 and proved to the game-winner. Ferrum led 5-0 at the break and out-shot the Vixens 40-0.
