FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a Southern Athletic Association field hockey game to visiting Transylvania University this afternoon at home, falling 4-2 at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
In a fairly even game, the Pioneers out-shot Ferrum 17-12 and closed with a slight 11-10 edge in penalty corners. Four different players scored for Trasylvania, while Danielle Simon and Destanee Cutler notched goals for Ferrum in the 5th and 50th minutes, respectively.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"We had some great moments of ball movement and a few really good looks," said Coach Carrie Hanshue Austin. "It's unfortunate that we couldn't connect and get the job done today. We're focused and motivated moving into the second half of the season, and we're looking forward to some competitive matches in the weeks to come."

Austin's team will be back in action Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Bridgewater College. The non-conference is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. in Bridgewater, Virginia.
