FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College and LaGrange College split the first two games of a USA South Athletic Conference three-game baseball series today at Panther Field. Ferrum grabbed the first game 8-3, before falling 5-2 in the nightcap.

THE BASICS
Drew Calohan (4-1) got the win in the opener, pitching four innings in relief with two hits, an earned run, a walk and three strikeouts. The Panthers scored four in the seventh inning to break it open, with Dominic Claxton going 3-5 with a run and a stolen base. LaGrange belted out 14 hits to take the nightcap, with McKinley Erves going 3-5 with an RBI. Brandon West and Brandon Roberts each had two base hits for Ferrum in game two. Starter Joey Pride (2-5) got the loss after allowing six hits, an earned run and a walk in the first three innings.

NEXT GAME
Coach Ryan Brittle's squad is scheduled to play game three against LaGrange Saturday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m. With rain in the forecast for Saturday, the game will likely be pushed back to Sunday, but no changes have been made thus far.
