ROCKY MOUNT, North Carolina -- The Ferrum College baseball team dropped a mid-week non-conference match up to North Carolina Wesleyan in extras, 5-4, at Bauer Field.

THE BASICS
Both teams were held at bay until the fifth when Grey Sherfey scored Darden Eure-Parrish with a single to left field, and Ferrum jumped out to the 1-0 lead.
The Panthers would add to their advantage with Isaac Yeaman's fourth home run on the season, this one being a two-run shot, and Ferrum would turn to their pen with a 3-0 lead.
N.C. Wesleyan would answer right back in the home half of the seventh, scoring four runs and taking their first lead of the game. Moses Vigo would get the rally started for the Bishops with a 2-run double to center, scoring Drifton Padgett and Zach Lyon. Lyon would later come around to score and tie the game up at three. Vigo would later cap the Bishop seventh and score off of a ground ball by Jackson Murray.
Ferrum would knot the game back up at four in the visiting half of the eighth with a Tim Ortega opposite field single, scoring Eure-Parrish.
The game would go into extras with neither team able to score in the ninth. Lyon would again play hero for the Bishops, hitting a walk-off single through the left side to score Murray.
