BLACKSBURG, Virginia -- Ferrum College's equestrian team closed out the 2020-21 season Sunday, March 28, at the Virginia Tech Equitation Invitational. The event was held at the Alphin-Stuart Livstock Center on the Virginia Tech campus.
THE BASICS
Ferrum competed within its Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone, finishing ninth as a team. Five riders competed for the Panthers, earning a total of six ribbons.
INDIVIDUALS
Freshman Saige Stuart-Hughes led the way, placing in two events. She finished third in Intermediate Equitation Over Fences and fourth in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.
Junior Hattie Rieck posted a third-place finish in Introductory Equitation, while senior Emma Williams was thirrd in Novice Equitation on the Flat.
Sophomore Grace Howell placed sixth in Limit Equitation Over Fences and senior Lindsay Koogler placed sixth in Limit Equitation on the Flat.
