Ferrum Riders Compete at Hollins IHSA Show

ROANOKE, Virginia -- Ferrum College's equestrian team opened the 2019-20 season today as they competed at an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show, hosted at Hollins University.

THE BASICS
The Panther riders finished in ninth place in a field of nine teams. Lindsay Koogler rode in Limit Hunter Equitation on the Flat and placed 5th, Lauren Weaver rode in Novice Hunter Seat on the Flat and placed 6th, and Emma Williams rode in Pre-Novice Hunter Seat Flat and placed 3rd.

BEHIND THE WHISTLE
"We did not have our entire team compete, so we were at a bit of a disadvantage with only three riders today. We plan to compete with seven riders next week so I'm looking forward to seeing how we do at full strength." --Coach Margaret Cornwell

NEXT WEEK
Cornwell's team will be back in action Saturday, October 19, at the Bridgewater College IHSA Show in Bridgewater, Virginia.
