FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College junior quarterback Zack Clifford has been named Football Offensive Player of the Week by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for his part in the Panthers' non-conference win September 22 at home over Greensboro College.
Clifford was 13-16 passing for 246 yards and a new school record four touchdown passes. The junior from Salem, Virginia, also rushed 14 times for 71 yards and a score. With Ferrum now in its first season as a full-time member of the league, Clifford is the first-ever student-athlete to earn an ODAC Player of the Week honor.
Clifford helped led the Panthers to an 81-0 whitewash of Greensboro, the largest margin of victory in school history. Clifford owns school records for game and season pass attempts, game and season pass completions, game and season passing yards, and game touchdown passes.
Clifford and the Panthers will be back in action Saturday, September 29, at Shenandoah University. The ODAC contests kicks off at 1:00 p.m. in Winchester, Virginia.
