Ellis Joins Ferrum Staff as Assistant Football Coach


FERRUM, Va. – Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced the hiring of Rahsaan Elis, Jr. as Assistant Football Coach at Ferrum College.

Ellis will work under Head Coach Rob Grande, who is in his third season at the helm of the Panther football program. He will work primarily with Ferrum's running backs.

Ellis came to Ferrum from Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served the 2018 season as an assistant with the Mustang football program. Specifically, he handled outside linebackers, special teams and recruiting.

Prior to Stevenson, Ellis served three years as a student assistant coach at Salisbury University from 2015-18. His responsibilities with the Seagulls also included outside linebackers, special teams and recruiting. Ellis helped Salisbury win the New Jersey Athletic Conference football title in 2015.

Ellis played linebacker at Salisbury three years from 2012-14, helping the Seagulls win the 2012 Empire 8 Conference title and ECAC Bowl Game titles in 2013 and 2014. He earned his bachelor's degree in Finance with a minor in Coaching from Salisbury in 2016, then earned his master's degree in Business Administration from Salisbury in 2018.
