FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference football win against Guilford College, 45-23 at home in W.B. Adams Stadium. The Panthers picked up 572 yards in total offense to the Quakers' 395.

Ferrum attacked first when Rah'Quan Payne scored on a 68 yard pass from Zack Clifford. On Guilford's fourth drive of the quarter, Harrison Kiser squeezed the score gap with a 35 yard field goal to make in a 7-3 game.
Joe Burris III rushed from 22 yards out to open the second quarter for the Panthers. Quentin Wallace received a pass from Clifford to add another Ferrum touchdown. With five minutes on the clock, Ryan Beidleman hauled in a Tyler English pass from 71 yards out making the score 28-3 in favor of Ferrum. Austin Pennington decided one more score was in need before the halftime break, making the score 35-3.
Guilford struck back with a Derrien Phillips pass to Jermaine Russell from 21 yards out. The Panthers answered back when Frank Ross rushed for 25 yards. Phillips passed to Jordan Smith for five yards to close the gap a little more for the Quakers. Russell received his second score of the day from Phillips for 36 yards for Guilford to open the fourth quarter. Brad Green made a house call of his own when he made a field goal from 31 yards out to makae the final score 45-23 in favor of Ferrum.
Clifford was 16-25 passing for 238 yards while rushing for 68 yards for the Panthers. Beidleman hauled in three passes for a total of 136 yards and a score while Pennington had 41 yards on three passes and a score. Burris had nine carries for 73 yards and a touchdown. Christian Johnson and Niccolas Helvy held down the defense with 6.5 and 5.5 tackles respectively.
Guilford's Phillips was 17-38 through the air for 230 yards while rushing for 34 yards. Russell had seven passes for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Desmond McDowell had 13 carries for 93 yards. Direese McCaskill held the defense down with seven solo tackles.
