FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team, ranked #20 in the nation by D3hoops.com, dropped a non-conference game 64-48 Jan. 23 at University of Mary Washington.  The Eagles went deep into last year's NCAA Division III Tournament, falling in the Elite 8 and finishing the year at 30-1.

The Panthers shot just 30% from the floor last night.  Katy Kipps had 15 points, and was Ferrum's only double-figure scorer.  Sam Partonen had 17 points and Aby Diop had 10 points for the Eagles (13-5).

Ferrum (14-2) returns to action Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26 with a pair of USA South Athletic Conference road games.  Coach Bryan Harvey's squad will face Averett University Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Danville, Virginia.  The Panthers then travel to Staunton, Virginia, Saturday to play Mary Baldwin College at 4:00 p.m.
