RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jacole Hairston had 18 points as Ferrum College posted an 85-55 USA South Athletic Conference women's basketball win over William Peace University this afternoon on the road.

The Panthers opened the game with a 21-2 run and led 41-21 at the break.  Tesla Akers and Shea Smith had 11 points each for the Panthers, with Smith dishing out seven assists.  Crystal Alston had 16 points the Pacers (5-14, 1-11 USA South), while Derrica Jones had 11 points and Krystal Williams had 10 points.

Ferrum (17-2, 11-1 USA South) plays next on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Meredith College.  The USA South game tips off at 2:00 p.m. in Raleigh.  Coach Bryan Harvey's team then hosts Maryville College Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in Swartz Gym.  Maryville handed Ferrum its only league loss this season.
