Generals Top Ferrum Women 83-61 in ODAC Play

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team closes out the season with an Old Dominion Athletic Conference loss to Washington and Lee University this afternoon on the road, falling 83-61 at at W&L's Duchossois Tennis Center.

The Generals jumped out to a 12-5 lead five and a half minutes into the game, but Ferrum used a 6-3 mini run to get the lead back down to three points at 14-11. W&L closed out the first quarter with a 10-4 run to take a 24-15 lead.

In the second quarter, Washington and Lee extended its lead to 14 points early on, only to see the Panthers chip away at the lead and get to within six points at 38-32 on Jasmine Barr's jumper with 2:27 left before the break. The Generals outscored Ferrum 43-29 after the break and closed the game with a 35-29 rebounding edge.

Coach Bryan Harvey's team closed out the season with the loss. Self and five other seniors graduate this May, while seven players are eligible to return for the 2019-20 season.
