FERRUM, Va. -- Shenandoah University led by 12 points at the break en route to beating Ferrum College 69-49 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball action this afternoon at Swartz Gym.

The reigning ODAC champs held Ferrum to just two points in the first quarter, then built a 29-17 halftime lead. The Panthers came alive in the third quarter, with Jacy Marvin scoring 11 points in the first 6:36 of the quarter on three three-pointers and a jumper.
Marvin's three-pointer from the left side trimmed the score to 45-36 at the 3:24 mark, but Shenandoah used a 7-2 run to close out the quarter with a 52-38 lead.
The Hornets slowly began to pull away in the fourth quarter, building their largest lead at 23 points, 66-43, on Olivia Weinel's layup with 2:58 left to play.
Jordan Sondrol had 20 points and 10 rebounds, both game-high totals, to lead Shenandoah to its second league win in as many games.

Coach Bryan Harvey's team will be back in action Wednesday, December 4, at Emory & Henry College. The ODAC game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off in Emory, Virginia.
