FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball match tonight to visiting University of Lynchburg, falling 3-0 at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Lynchburg closed out the first set on a pair of Abbi Leeper kills. Erin Farina served out the final three points in the second set for the Hornets, which ended with a Farina service ace.
In the third set, Ferrum played well, leading 4-12 and then 16-15 mid-way through the set. The Hornets came to life, using a 10-6 rally, with Natalie Lavelle's kill on match point closing things out.
Alex Davies-Hacken had 22 assists for the Hornets, while Sydney Frink had 11 kills and Bria Hayward had 10 kills. Ashley Roberts dished out 12 assists for the Panthers, Arielle Tritt had nine assists, Layura Henley had nine digs and Moilly Patterson had six kills.
Coach Ruthanne Duffy's team will be back in action Tuesday, October 29, at home against Piedmont International University. The non-conference match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Swartz Gym and will be preceded by a Senior Night ceremony for three graduating players.
