HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Ferrum College is tied for 7th place after the first round of play at the Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament, being played at Lakeview Golf Club. Washington and Lee University leads the 18-team field with a score of 285. Milligan College is second place at 289 and host Bridgewater College is third at 293. The Panthers and three other teams are tied at 306.
Junior
Scott Obenshain shot an opening-round 74 and is tied for 20th place individually in a field of 90 golfers. Virginia Intermont College's Trevor Banks holds the top spot after carding a 65. Tom Kinder is the late brother of former Ferrum Athletic Director Ted Kinder.
