RESULTS
SALEM, Va. -- Ferrum College's men's golf team finished fifth of 14 teams in the Roanoke College Spring Invitational, held April 6-7 at Roanoke Country Club. The Panthers shot a two-day 620 to finish 14 strokes behind team champion Bluefield State College.
Hampden-Sydney College (607), Lynchburg College (612), Bridgewater College (616) and Ferrum rounded out the top five teams. Hampden-Sydney's Rick O'Connell earned medalist honors with a 146.
Jacob Hardy and
Scott Obenshain carded identical scores of 155 to tie for 20th place in a field of 76 individuals.
Keegan Howver tied for 27th with a 157.
Coach Adam Crawford's team will be back in action next weekend at the 2013 USA South Tournament, to be held April 12-14 at Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The team champion at the USA South Tournament claims the league's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
