FERRUM, Va. -- Washington & Lee University picked up a non-conference men's wrestling win over #11 Ferrum College, winning 19-15 this afternoon at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Clay Chadwick gave the Generals the win when he scored a takedown in overtime to beat NCAA qualifier Alveno Matthews in the final match of the night at 285 pounds. Ferrum trailed 17-6 after the 165-lb match, but picked up win by Andrew Tolbert (174), Blake Rosenbaum (184) and Braden Homsey (197) to get to within 17-15.
Chadwick trailed 3-1 after two periods, but tied it at 4-4 to send the match into OT, then took Matthews down to win the match and give W&L the win. Tolbert beat 2017 NCAA qualifier Joe Scott, while Rosenbaum needed a takedown in overtime to get past Rexx Hallyburton. Earlier in the match, Mario Vasquez earned a 6-2 decision over two-time NCAA qualifier Zach Bylykbashi at 141 pounds.
