FERRUM, Virginia-- The Ferrum College Women's Basketball team dropped a non-conference game to Centre College, 74-47 in the first game of the Ferrum Classic in Swartz Gym tonight.

THE BASICS
In the first quarter Centre took an early 13-4 lead, before
Kayla Cabiness hit two three pointers and
Makalyn Savoy scored a jumper in the paint, to make it 13-12. The Colonels closed out the quarter on a 5-0 run to lead 18-12.Â
Centre outscored Ferrum 16-12 in the second stanza and took a 34-29 lead into halftime. The Colonels saw their lead extend to 13, before the Panthers were able to close out the quarter 5-1.Â
The third quarter Centre was able to pull away and take a commanding lead in the game. Â In the fourth stanza, Centre outscored the Panthers 23-13 and built a lead that got a big as 30 points.Â
