CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- Ferrum College's women's tennis team beat Johnson & Wales University on the road, winning 6-3 this afternoon at the Park Road Park Tennis Facility.

THE BASICS
Ferrum took a 2-1 lead with an 8-6 win at #2 doubles by Chelsea Zizzi and Madison Wright over Hannah Stokes and Miranda Montes, and a forfeit win at #3 doubles.
In singles, the Panthers got wins from Madison Wright, Morgan Hundley, and Emma Loughrey in the #3-5 spots, respectively. Wright had to grind out a three-set win, beating Stokes 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-3). Hundley also had a marathon three-setter, beating Miranda Montes 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-3). Loughrey beat Ginger Gibson with relative ease, winning 6-0, 6-1. Ferrum also earned a forfeit at #6 singles.
