WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania -- Ferrum College's men's wrestling team competed in two matches in the second day of action at the 2023 Budd Whitehill Duals, hosted at Lycoming College's Keiper Recreation Center. The Panthers split both matches today..

THE BASICS
Wilkes College picked up the first three wins, to take an early 12-0 lead. Hayden Funck (149 lbs) earned a 12-0 major decision to spot the with the Panthers their first points against Wilkes. Wilkes and Ferrum split the final six matches. Mateo Villalobos (174) earned a 18-1 tech fall, Sam Slate (184)  earned a 9-4 decision and Braden Homsey (197) earned a 16-1 tech fall. 

Penn Tech lead 9-0 through the first two matches, Jonathan Ward (141) picked up a 17-2 tech fall win to get Ferrum on the board. Penn tech won matches at the 149 and 157 pound weight class. Ferrum then won the rest of the matches to pick up the victory. Joey Olade (165) earned a 15-7 major decision, Mateo Villalobos bumped up a weight class (174) and earned an 12-4 major decision. Sam Slate (184) got points for a forfeit, Braden Homsey (197) won a 17-2 tech fall, and Trent Ray (285) eked out a 4-0 win for the final count.
